Howard Humphrey named 66th Peter Perry Award winner at annual Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC) event.
WHITBY, Ont., November 10, 2021 – Mayor Don Mitchell announced the 2021 Peter Perry Award recipient, Howard Humphrey, who was honoured posthumously. Humphrey was CEO of MTC, was known for being philanthropist who helped countless charities in the Durham Region.
“Howard was a most generous, kind and humble human being,” said Howard’s wife Stephanie who accepted on his behalf. “Nothing made him happier than when he would touch the hearts of those around him to help in any way, big or small. I honestly think he has the spirit of Peter Perry. If he was here, he would be honoured.”
In addition to awarding this prestigious honour, the WCC had the privilege to celebrate excellence through the Business Achievement Awards. This year, businesses were awarded in seven categories.
