Code of Conduct

As a corporate/individual member of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC), I/we recognize that membership is a privilege and brings with it the responsibility to:

  • Pledge to conduct business in a professional and reputable manner, including complying with applicable legislation for the conduct of business; providing honest, skilled and conscientious service to customers and offering to settle any customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strive to communicate, co-operate and collaborate in the promotion, development and enhancement of business growth and activities within Whitby and the greater Durham Region.
  • Respect the good reputation, profile and status of the Chamber and both support and represent the Chamber accordingly.

I/We also understand that failure to comply with the professional and personal obligations of the Chamber of Commerce, as outlined above, can result in termination of my/our membership.

I/We hereby register for membership in the Chamber of Commerce and agree to pay the administration fee detailed on the registration form plus the annual membership investment, as set by the Board of Directors, until such time as my/our written resignation is filed with this organization. Payment of dues must accompany registration.

I/We understand that membership (except for students and retirees) automatically renews each year unless written revocation is submitted to the Chamber. I/We understand that if the membership is revoked or cancelled, I/we will pay in full the annual membership investment for the year in which revocation takes effect, without discount, rebate or refund of any part of that investment. If your account remains unpaid for 120 days, the Chamber reserves the right to cancel your membership and all your membership benefits will immediately cease (students must provide proof of enrolment in a post-secondary institution at renewal or membership immediately ceases on the last day of the annual membership).
