Micro-grant Opportunity that Empowers Young Leaders to Build a More Inclusive Whitby

It’s no surprise how many talented young leaders we have in our community. Did you know that they now have a chance to win a micro-grant through Tomorrow’s Leaders Starting Out (ToLSO) micro-grant program. This initiative is brought to you by the Nigerian Canadian for Cultural, Educational, Economic Progress (NCCEEP), funded in part by the Canadian Service Corp.

Many young leaders in Whitby have already been awarded this grant and are on their way to creating their passion driven projects that’s creating positive change. Now, it could be your turn to make a difference!

ToLSO is a national grant program aimed at empowering young people between the ages of 15 and 30. It provides funding of up to $5,000 to help them execute projects that serve their community based on four fundamental pillars:

Building an Inclusive Canada: ToLSO encourages initiatives that promote inclusivity, diversity, and equality in their local communities.

Preserving the Environment: Through education and impactful activities, young leaders are urged to take steps towards preserving our environment for future generations.

Promoting Civic and Demographic Engagement: ToLSO supports projects that engage with our community on a demographic level, fostering civic participation and awareness.

Strengthening Youth Resilience: This is achieved through culturally themed programming and connections with youth from various backgrounds across the nation.

The beauty of ToLSO lies in its versatility. Young individuals are free to develop a wide range of projects, provided that they align with the program’s four core pillars. If you’re passionate about creating a positive impact in Whitby, ToLSO can be your platform to turn your ideas into reality.

What makes ToLSO even more exceptional is its commitment to inclusivity. While it is open to young people of all races, a significant portion of the program’s resources are reserved for underserved communities. This ensures that everyone, regardless of their background, has an opportunity to be part of this transformative initiative.
